Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

The thrill for me has been to simply cross the finish line!  I've done 5K's, a couple of 10K's and the Moab half marathon. 

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to be healthy.  Running helps keep me healthy in every aspect of the word--physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally!  I would love to run a few more half marathons.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Hope to be 80+ and still running!

Personal:

I am a wife and a mom --and I love being both!  Dave is my husband.  And Zach (almost 8) and Abbie (6) are my two kids also know as "ying" and "yang".

Didn't run today....haven't been running for the last week.  I reeeeally need to get in that good habit again.  It's SO hard for me to get out there by myself.  Jody and Paula I miss you guys!!!  Thought if I start writing (finally figured it out BTW) it would motivate me a little more.  The day is not over yet. Maybe I will still get er done.

It's 1:15 p.m. and I just finished my run!  I didn't run yesterday.  My alarm went off and I told myself I would just go running a little later...it never works for me.  I did play a little basketball with Dave on our neighbor's hoop.  I counted that as my exercise for the day.  We stayed up late last night so I turned the alarm off before we even went to sleep.  I am just horrible!  It's all about habit, right?  I GOT TO GET IT BACK!  Nevertheless, I did get my run in today.  Loving the cool temps!  (Can get away with running in the afternoon still)

Trying to get back in shape.  It was only 3 miles, but I was glad to be finished!

Got up at 6:30 this morning and finally did it.  I ran!  It felt great....well, actually my legs itched like crazy about 10 minutes into it, driving me crazy and I wheezed all the way up the last hill.  It's going to take me a little time to get back into shape.  The last few months have been my longest stretch not running in the last 3 years.  No wonder my husband tells me I'm just no fun anymore!  Running makes me happy--and you know the cliche, "When mamma aint happy..."

Going for two in a row! Be back here tomorrow.
